Introduction to the New Studio Display XDR
Apple has introduced an all-new Studio Display XDR, featuring a 27-inch screen, mini-LED backlighting, and 5K resolution.
The new display boasts a peak brightness of 2,000 nits for HDR content and up to a 120Hz refresh rate.
Additionally, it includes Thunderbolt 5 and more.
Key Features of the Studio Display XDR
The Studio Display XDR replaces the former Pro Display XDR and offers two Thunderbolt 5 ports and two USB-C ports.
One upstream Thunderbolt 5 port provides 140W charging, while the other downstream port is for connecting accessories.
The two USB-C ports are for connecting additional accessories.
The regular Studio Display has also been updated with new features, including two Thunderbolt 5 ports and a 12-megapixel Center Stage camera that now supports Desk View.
The six-speaker sound system delivers 30 percent deeper bass compared to the previous model.
Comparison and Pricing
The main difference between the two models is the refresh rate, with the Studio Display XDR offering a 120Hz refresh rate and the regular Studio Display limited to 60Hz.
The Studio Display XDR also has increased brightness and faster 140W pass-through charging.
Both models have 27-inch displays with a 5K resolution.
The new Studio Displays can be pre-ordered starting Wednesday, March 4, ahead of a Wednesday, March 11 launch.
The regular Studio Display starts at $1,599, while the Studio Display XDR starts at $3,299.
