Microsoft Partners with ASUS and Dell for Cloud PC Devices
Microsoft has announced partnerships with ASUS and Dell to expand its Windows 365 Cloud PC hardware lineup. Both companies will release dedicated thin-client devices later this year.
ASUS and Dell Devices
The ASUS NUC 16 for Windows 365 is a mini-PC with a footprint of roughly 0.7 liters, featuring Intel’s latest processor, DDR5 memory, and Wi-Fi 6E. Meanwhile, the Dell Pro Desktop for Windows 365 is a compact, fanless desktop with Intel N-series processors.
Both devices are targeting general availability in Q3 2026, with the ASUS model launching in the US and Europe, and Dell’s version rolling out across 58 countries.
Security and Simplicity
The appeal of Cloud PC devices lies in their ability to eliminate local data, providing a secure environment for organizations. Devices are managed through Microsoft Intune, making it simple for IT departments to oversee.
Additionally, Microsoft has announced updates to the underlying Windows CPC operating system, including support for pairing Bluetooth devices during initial setup and custom branding for companies.
Market Context
Analyst firm Gartner estimates that around ten percent of business PCs are currently virtual, and this number could double by 2027. Microsoft’s timing is strategic, given the disruption in the virtual desktop market following Broadcom’s acquisition of VMware.
