The upcoming Silent Hill game, Silent Hill: Townfall, has been inspired by the small fishing village of St Monans in Fife, Scotland. The game’s setting, a fictional village called St Amelia, is based on St Monans and features eerie landscapes and a deserted fishing village shrouded in haar, a cold sea fog common along the east coast of Scotland. The Silent Hill series has sold millions of units worldwide since its first game was published in 1999, and the new release is expected to be just as popular.
